New items to my collection

Yesterday I got some new stuff too my Collection, I was really happy when I opened the mail and saw the new packages.

 

If you click on the image you see it bigger, what I got was gloves from Team Vacansoleil, not the ones we fans can buy, but real gloves from a pro. A foodbag (musette) from Mercatone Uno and postcards from Team Alessio Bianchi, Team Mercatone Uno and two signed cards from Team Barloworld - Baden Cooke and Gianpaolo Cheula.

Real nice and fun to get it.

Various Jerseys - Vintage

When it come too older Jerseys they are rare too  find and when you find them, they are almost every time pretty expencive or well worn. I had the luck to find Three different Jerseys in very good shape.

The Jersey with Bianchi Faema is a replica, because I have never seen a original one for sale. But some day there will be one and then I get it.

The Cap of Bianchi Paiggio is original and also veery rare, today you can find replicas on the net but they still miss the bikes in the forehead of the cap. As you can see in my photos.

Team Liquigas Bianchi 2005 / 06

Some years ago I was very lucky to be able to buy a pretty large Collection of clothing and other stuff from a former rider in Team Liquigas Bianchi from year 2005. This stuff is highly appraised by me, and I use the most of when I take my Bianchi Freccia Celeste "Team Liquigas Bianchi" on a ride.

The things I didn´t buy from him is from Ebay. Which is a great source for a collector as me.

Odd stuff

To collect on items attached to Teams that used Bianchi have some really odd wishes for the collector. I know that some items are more highly appreciated than other stuff. As and example would it be a dream to have a Jersey with the numbers on the back from a rider in a Bianchi Team, not any race the bigger race the better the Jersey would be. As an example is Marco Pantanis Jersey (one of them) out on sale on Ebay at the moment, it´s his Jersey from 1998 when he won the overall Classification, price? Only Euro 6000 a bargain in my opinion =)

But if you can´t get the race jersey from a rider there is other stuff, that atleast me, that have a high value. In 2012 when I meet the Team Androni Giocattoli-Venezuela at the Giro d´Italia in Denmark, Team Manager Gianni Savio gave me two kind of stickers from the Team. The first one is an ordinary sticker that you put onto a Jersey when you achieve the leader jersey of a race, you put the sticker on too the Jersey before you go to the podium and get the jersey.

  The other sticker is a one that you can use a iron to put on the Jersey so you can wear it on next days stage. Bigger races have their own printmachine so they make the leader jersey for each team. But smaller Races have to use this one. I think it´s pretty rare to own such stickers, what do you think?

Next items that I value high is the numbers from the riders which was attached to their bikes during a race, I had the opportunity to attend the Tour of Estonia 2013, and the mechanic of Androni kindly removed the numbers for me after the last stage, why I miss two numbers are that two riders of the Team made a DNF and when they leave the race, the numbers will be removed from the Jersey and the bike.

Musettes / Food bags

Most collectors of Bike memorabilia also looking for the Musettes / food bags (In Swedish "Slungor") which during races contains food and something to drink for the riders, in those you have their lunch or just new energy. In a race when they give those to the riders, the first kilometres after they have been given to the riders is the best place to get them. You can´t find them in other places and if you as me can´t go to Italy or France every year, you have to depend on other collectors or Ebay.

I am always on the hunt for more Musettes, so if you have one or two send me an email. =) I hve already displayed the Musettes from Team Androni Giocattoli so you have to look in an older post to see them,

Team Gewiss Ballan and Gewiss Playbus

Team Gewiss Ballan was a Team which was created in 1994, at first they had De Rosa Bikes, but in 1995 they changed into Bianchi. The General Manager of the Team was Emanuele Bombini, and the Team excisted also in 1996, but then under the name Team Gewisss Playbus.

Items from this Team is pretty hard to find, I just missed a Teambottle from this Team on Ebay, and I cross my fingers that a new one will appear soon again. Jerseys are pretty easy to find, but bibs, gloves, caps and other accessories is almost impossible to find, I was very lucky when I found a pais of Bibs a year ago, and also from a former pro of Team Gewiss Playbus, it´s very common that riders of pro teams cut the bibs in the end of the legs. Maybe they doesn´t need the rubber to keep the fabric in place as we ordinary bike riders need.

Team Bottles - Bianchi
